The medical staff and administration of Greenwood Leflore Hospital extend condolences to the family of Dr. Michael T. Boler who passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Dr. Boler was a native of Union, Mississippi. After attending East Central Community College he then transferred to Ole Miss in 1974 to further his education in pharmacy school. Upon completing pharmacy school, he then attended medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He graduated medical school in 1982 and then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
In 1985, Dr. Boler opened an Internal Medicine practice in Greenwood, Mississippi, where he practiced for 38 years until he could no longer physically do so during his battle with leukemia. Dr. Boler joined the Medical Staff at Greenwood Leflore Hospital on June 25, 1986, and served the hospital in various leadership roles over the years. He served three years on the hospital’s Executive Committee, which included serving as its chairman for one year. He served on several other hospital committees, and served as chair of many of those committees, including the Pharmacy Committee, Constitution and Bylaws Committee, and the Medical Records Committee. Dr. Boler was the hospital’s current Chief of Medicine.
Dr. Boler will be deeply missed by his colleagues, co-workers and his patients.
